Home Groups
The best place to find Jesus and grow as his disciple is in a small group of friends meeting in a home with the Bible and prayer.
Children
We love children worshipping with their families. A breakout Sunday School is available on demand.
Healing Prayer
We are intentional about training everyone to be naturally supernatural. We believe that every Christian can minister healing and prophecy and other spiritual gifts. Healing prayer is offered at every Anchor service.
About us
Anchor is a charismatic church that meets on Sundays at 10.30 am at Cashmere Bowling Club rooms, 12 Crichton Terrace, Cashmere. You are also welcome to check us out at the same time on Facebook Live.
In a time when the underpinnings of western life are teetering, we invite you to turn to God to find real hope and a new reality. The good news of Jesus Christ gives us hope in this life and the next.
The vision for Anchor was given to Rev. Andrew Allan-Johns in May 2018 while on a Camino pilgrimage to Santiago, Spain. Clearly asked by God to gather up charismatic Anglicans unable to stay in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia (ACNZP), the call has been independently confirmed by scriptures such as, Isaiah 40:3 “prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight” and Jeremiah 4:3 “break up your unploughed ground and do not sow among thorns”.
In the context of shrinking churches, a disconnect with the culture, and a disrespect for the authority of The Bible, Anchor is laying fresh foundations in Christchurch for a charismatic church to make disciples of Jesus. Jesus’ Great Commission to us is to make disciples who will obey everything he commanded, so we’re strongly focussed on evangelism and making true disciples of Jesus – not just followers in the crowd. As a church, we’re beginning this intentional process with small groups and one on one spiritual mentoring.
